Building Permit information

Any other construction 200 sq ft and over requires a building permit.

Any construction of 400 sq ft and over requires a foundation. For residential accessory.

The final home address will be given at the time of final inspection.

Any construction attached to a dwelling requires a building permit.

Prior to requesting the frame inspection, rough-in inspections for plumbing, electrical and mechanical  must be completed.

Prior to requesting the final inspection, the final plumbing, electrical and mechanical  inspections must be completed.

Building Design Criteria and Plan Preparation:

  1. Wind Load 90 mph  3 second gust – Height and exposure adjustment coefficient is “C”
  2. Snow Load 30 lbs. per sq. ft. (roof)
  3. Seismic design category “C”
  4. Design Temperature zero degrees Fahrenheit
  5. Weathering Probability rating for concrete is “Severe”.
  6. Frost line depth is 24” below finished grade.
  7. Maximum soil bearing pressure is 1500 lbs. per sq. ft. unless a soils investigation is provided
  8. Foundation walls over 9 ft. height require engineering design
  9. Foundation walls over 3’-6” shall be a minimum 8-inch thickness
  10. Buildings over two-story height or of unusual design may require engineering design
  11. Truss design drawings shall be in accordance with R802.10 and retained on site.
